Layer height


The ideal layer height is 60% of the nozzle diameter. We do not recommend printing layers smaller than 0.25 mm with glass fibers.  A height of less than 0.25 mm can create too much back pressure in the extrusion chamber and lead to poor loading, blockages, rattling at the drive gear, and a notch in the filament


Nozzle wear


Fiberglass is very abrasive and will quickly wear out a brass nozzle. We strongly recommend the use of a hardened steel nozzle

Drying Nylon


Anyone who prints with nylon knows how quickly it can absorb moisture and the consequences this has on the quality of your print. We recommend drying nylon at 90°C for at least 4 hours, but this is a starting point.  Saturated nylon can take more than 24 hours to dry enough to make decent prints. Store the material in a dry place during printing and between print jobs to facilitate drying


Nylon over-dried


One thing to note is that over-dried nylon can be more difficult to dry and handle.  In fact, nylon likes a little moisture, otherwise, it is brittle and more difficult to handle.  Printing with nylon is so much fun!
