Description

 

FibreX™ PP+GF30 filament is made using a 30% glass fiber reinforced polypropylene copolymer formulated specifically for 3D printing. The formulation offers improved thermal properties and lower shrinkage and deformation compared to competing for PP-based compounds.

Reinforcing this proven engineering polymer with glass fiber can truly enhance industrial applications. 3D printed PP+GF30 parts can be found in a wide range of real-world end uses or functional prototypes, including automotive, tooling and jigs, appliances, and sporting goods.

What is it?

 

Glass fibers are reinforced in the polymer during manufacturing and aligned along the filament axis.
This, along with their physical makeup, gives this material tremendous strength and mechanical properties.

 

 

What does it do?

 

Fiberglass reinforcement gives the material many desirable properties:

  • High strength
  • High rigidity
  • High chemical resistance
  • Low thermal expansion

 

How does it work?

 

Reinforcing plastic with glass fibers produces a 3D printing filament that has the best properties of the glass fiber and the chosen plastic.

 

 

 

 

 

What is it used for?

 

Ideal for all applications that require strength and rigidity.

For these reasons, glass fiber reinforced filament is very popular in the automotive, mechanical, civil engineering and research industries.

 

 

  Abrasive material

 

This material is particularly abrasive among 3D printing filaments. Users may find that standard brass nozzles are eaten away very quickly compared to normal wear. When worn, the nozzle diameter expands unevenly and the 3D printer experiences extrusion problems. For this reason, it is highly recommended that you print this material with a hardened steel nozzle rather than a softer metal. Hardened steel nozzles are often inexpensive and easy to install, according to your 3D printer manufacturer's instructions.
