Optical Engine and Data Acquisition


The AS 200E is built around a high-definition optical system designed for true-color 3D capture. It uses proprietary image sensor technology combined with advanced algorithms to achieve a claimed accuracy of 20 micrometers over a full arch. This level of accuracy is maintained on different substrates, including prepared dentin, enamel, and implant scan bodies.

 

 

 

 

 

Field of View (FOV): The scanner offers two distinct FOV settings to accommodate different clinical situations. The large tip provides a 16 x 14 mm FOV for rapid acquisition of full arches, while the small tip (12 x 12 mm) allows for access to tight posterior spaces or detailed margin capture.

Its execution speed is formidable: a full-arch scan can be completed in just 20 seconds thanks to a cutting-edge image sensor and a proprietary processing pipeline. The system is engineered for ultra-low latency. The handpiece streams data to a dedicated USB 3.0 wireless adapter connected to the workstation. The AS 200E operates within the AS Connect (ScanPro) software environment.

Additional modules – Oral Health Report (visual patient summary), Model Builder (preparation for 3D printing), Orthodontic Simulation.

 

File Output: It exports standard STL and PLY file formats. This ensures that the acquired data is not locked into a proprietary ecosystem and can be imported into any major CAD software for exocad, 3Shape, or other design platforms.

 

Computational Requirements: To process the dense mesh data generated by the scanner, Alliedstar recommends a workstation with an Intel Core i7 (9th gen or higher) processor, 32GB of RAM, and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card. This specification ensures that the software can handle real-time rendering and model manipulation without performance bottlenecks.
