    Note 

     

    It is recommended to select the appropriate accessories in the additional options section (Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro Upgrade Kit), depending on the printer model and the specific application.

     

     

    The AMS supports spools from 50 to 68 mm wide and approximately 200 mm in diameter. When using the AMS, we recommend that you use Bambu filament, which has been thoroughly tested to work with the AMS. If you purchase a single AMS unit, it will come with a filament pad. If you plan to connect several AMS units together, you will need to purchase the AMS hub.


    Avoid using soft materials with the AMS as they can get stuck. These include TPE, TPU or wet PVA. Filaments that are phosphorescent, particle-infused, or contain carbon or glass fibres that can be brittle and break inside the AMS, or abrasive and wear out internal parts prematurely. BambuLabs PA-CF and PAHT-CF have however been designed and tested to be compatible with the AMS.


    Please avoid using cardboard reels with the AMS. The rollers inside the AMS control the rotation of the coils through the friction created between the edge of the plastic coil and the rubber rollers. Cardboard reels offer minimal friction, can tear or have deformed edges, and will therefore slip or jam, causing failure or damage to the AMS.

    2. Can I dry filaments while printing with the AMS 2 Pro?

     

    Yes, but only for idle units. Units involved in active printing or auto-refill cannot dry simultaneously.


    3. What filaments can I use with the AMS 2 Pro?

     

    It supports PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PET, PA, PC, and more, but not soft (e.g., TPE, generic TPU) or abrasive (e.g., carbon fiber-filled) filaments.


    4. Do I need an external power adapter?

     

    For X1/P1 owners, an optional adapter is required to power the filament drying function of the Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro. Since drying takes time and multiple adapters are rarely needed simultaneously, this optional adapter helps lower costs. For H2D owners, the H2D can directly power the drying function of any connected AMS 2 Pro, so no adapter is needed unless you plan to dry filaments across multiple AMS 2 Pro units at once.
