Why use PETG filament
PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and PETG (glycol-modified PET) filaments are common types of plastic filament used in 3D printing. PET and PETG are thermoplastic polymers known especially for their strength, durability and clarity. PETG is an improved version of PET that contains glycols, making it more flexible and easier to print than PET.
PET and PETG filaments are available at Machines-3D, N°1 European distributor in 3D printing and 3D scan market. They are proposed in a variety of colors and are compatible with most FDM 3D printers. Its relatively low melting point, usually around 210-240°C, makes it easier to print than other high temperature filaments such as ABS and Nylon. It also has less deformation and shrinkage during the printing process.
Our PET and PETG filaments have excellent mechanical and thermal properties, making them suitable for a wide variety of applications. Because of its resistance to impact and temperature changes, it is widely used in the production of packaging, consumer goods and medical device parts. They are also safe and can be used to make food contact items.
The PETG materials have become increasingly popular in recent years as it is more flexible and easier to print than PET. It is also known for its high transparency, which makes it ideal for mouldings requiring good visibility. In summary, PET and PETG filaments are versatile materials that can produce high quality functional prints. It is a popular choice for parts requiring durability, strength and clarity, and is easier to print than other high temperature filaments. Check our range of PETG 3D Filaments here.
