The 3D printer manufacturer FDM Zortrax officially launches its 7th 3D machine, the Zortrax M300 Dual, a large format dual extrusion 3D printer. With many significant features enhancing the user experiences, it uses a new 3D printing process called LPD Plus (Layer Plastic Deposition Plus), which allows 3D models to be printed with water-soluble supports.

Who is Zortrax?
Zortrax is a Polish manufacturer of 3D desktop printers of various technologies (UV LCD, LPD and now LPD Plus). Since its debut, Zortrax has been very successful with the Zortrax M200 and Zortrax M300 3D printers, and the company has quickly established itself as one of the leaders in the desktop 3D printing market. On paper, we find a machine capable of 3D printing with a excellent accuracy of 0.10 mm / layer (100 microns) on a spacious print volume of 265 x 265 x 300 mm. Note especially that it is equipped with an extrusion head composed of 2 separate nozzles, allowing it to 3D print complex objects with supports soluble in water. Once the 3D printing is complete, the printed objects are simply soaked in water for a few hours to completely remove support material, simplifying the post-production process as much as possible.

Zortrax offers us a complete range of high-quality plastic filaments with a diameter of 1.75 mm. Compatible with most 3D printers on the market, these filaments are available at the price per kilo from 29.00 € to 39.00 € on average (filaments of 800 g). In dual extrusion, the M300 Dual is compatible with Zortrax filaments namely Z-SUPPORT (water-soluble filament), Z-PETG (chemical resistant filament), Z-ULTRAT PLUS (ABS based resistant filament) and non-proprietary filaments. In simple extrusion, we find even more extensive compatibility in the Zortrax filament range (Z-GLASS, Z-NYLON, Z-PLA, Z-ULTRAT PLUS, Z-PETG) and again, compatibility with most third-party plastic materials including the diameter is 1.75 mm.
Multiple features
In addition to its ability to 3D print large and accurate parts in dual extrusion, the Zortrax M300 Dual is designed to avoid printing failures as much as possible. That's why it is equipped with blackout response system, which detects a power outage and resumes the printing. The 3D printer can reduce time lost due to power outages and various kinds of mechanical failures. In such cases, the printing process is automatically paused and can be resumed right after the issue has been dealt with. Finally, it has a control camera and an intelligent sensor that leaves no room for failures when the filament's jammed, run out, or when the nozzle got clogged.
Ergonomic and intuitive
The M300 Dual is equipped with a color touch screen presenting an ergonomic menu in English, Chinese, German or Spanish. Through 4 tabs, Home, Tools, Settings, and Model, you can control the machine and prepare it for 3D printing. For example, we can turn off the color LEDs, preheat the print build plate, set up a WIFI connection or simply change the spool of filament. The menu guides us through each step with pretty icons and light effects.

The Zortrax M300 Dual comes with Z-Suite 2.0 print preview and slicing software. Ergonomic and intuitive, the software allows us first of all to prepare the file or files on the build plate and optimize their positioning to avoid the possible supports. Then we can set the print in just a few clicks through a panel of options proposed by default, or go further with the advanced settings. Finally, Z-Suite 2.0 offers the possibility of editing the support and optimizing their structure. A complete, intuitive software that can be taken in hand in less than 30 minutes for any novice user.
